The prior owner installed 2013-16 rims and I’m looking to go back to the factory rims on my 01 sahara. Is this a major process or easy done?

Might be as easy as removing the wheels and adapters and bolting new wheels on.

That year TJ Sahara typically came equipped with the 8x15 "Canyon" wheel option, along with 3.73 gearing and Dana 44 rear axle as bundled options (like this one on BaT: 36k-Mile 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4.0 5-Speed). If yours still has OEM 5 on 4.5" lug spacing and not 12.5" wide tires (31x10.5R15 worked well without needing spacers), should be good to go.
No, just looking to purchase factory rims and put back on.

going to the stock Canyons should be a simple replacement IF the hubs still have the 5hole x 4 1/2" diameter bolt pattern
the world wide interweb has numerous images along w/ SIMPLE explanations for measuring bolt patterns
i just did this to my '01 Sahara and am quite pleased with the results
the one thing i might also suggest is to have your front end aligned by a reputable shop
