aftermarket radiator replacement for electric fan

Inherited vehicle. Inherited issues. Not a wrencher.

Need to replace an alluminum radiator and have some questionsz

I dont see any stamps so I cant identify the aftermarket radiator to replace it. Are there reco’s from the group?

do I need to replace fan at same time or are they inter-compatiblecomponents?

You appear to have an aftermarket setup. Perhaps you should start with describing what issues you are having that are bringing you to the conclusion that you need a new radiator. The more information you give us will help with giving recommendations.

Brought in to shop for eval on some other issues and they flagged it -

“reservoir empty and top tank of radiator visible”

This was after a fillup less than 1 month ago

Are you doing the work or do you plan on having the shop do something?

Have you looked at any of the posts on radiators, overheating issues? There's at least a weekly post if not daily.

my dad was an independent shop owner for 30 yrs…he’ll be helping to do the work. Im just trying find out what my replacement options are.

The radiator and electric fan have been fine….until this leak issue.

Have you verified that the missing coolant is actually leaking from the radiator? Coolant can also disappear in other ways like water pump, heater core, head gasket etc.

I'd start with a new radiator cap, that one looks crusty.

Look for drips under the rad.

If you see drips from the crank pulley/oil pan it's the water pump.

Passenger floor, or out the AC drain is the heater core.

Steam out the exh pipe, head gasket.
