What did you do to your TJ today?

Is that paint or a sticker/decal? Either way, it looks great and is definitely a job well done! Gives it a really cool old-school retro look, kinda reminds me of these, which I like and may install on mine:

It's vinyl that I ordered off of Amazon. I was going for the old school look. I saw a CJ the other day with almost the same setup and really liked it. Of course, the CJ was a little more colorful that what I did. The previous owner was lazy and didn't even bother to tape things off really well before spraying the flares. I have found since buying the Jeep that this isn't the only place that he was lazy. The price was right and I have enjoyed doing the work and have learned a lot. I would have never attempted to put vinyl striping on a vehicle prior to this but it went really well. Next is getting the right bolts to replace my rear sway bar ends.

What a great improvement without having to spend a lot of cash . I think many of us can relate to the previous owners not having enough (or any) attention to detail during previous work.

I'm a follower of the less bling the better philosophy & these LEDs that came with my TJ have irritated me since then, what's worse is they're utterly useless to me as I don't wheel or even drive it at night so I finally pulled them off.

The now:

question now is do I cut the mounts off too, grind it all down & paint it for an even cleaner look, I think these brackets will irritate me as much as the lights did in short order :D

FINALLY got my front diff cover to stop leaking yesterday. It leaked 2-3 drops a day on the driveway which bugged the hell out of me. It leaked after every time I had it off & resealed it even with copious amounts of RTV. It even leaked after mrblaine sealed it after we worked inside it, after he yelled at me for having used so much RTV lol. Just nothing seemed to work, it was bugging me. Then while reinstalling my transmission pan after repairing my 42RLE, the FSM instructed that a sealant around one of the bolts that extends up into an area with ATF in it. A couple nights ago it occurred to me my front diff cover had to be leaking through one of its lower bolts. I removed all of the lower bolts and sealed them with Mopar gear lube RTV and voila, the leak is finally fixed. Plus 30 minutes of scrubbing the driveway with Simple Green to get rid of the oil spots. SO happy the leak is gone, it had really been bugging me since nothing else leaks on the TJ.

I also replaced both of my Rubicon's aftermarket illuminated SPST locker plastic toggle switches with non-illuminated DPST steel toggle switches so they will also apply a ground to their respective instrument cluster locker lights to light them up when the lockers are engaged. Works great now though the locker lights are flashing because I disabled my locker engagement sensors so the instrument cluster doesn't think they're engaged properly. I'll get to the wiring for the sensors today and wire them together to fool the computer so the lights will be on steady. I bypassed the usual Rubicon locker wiring and switch and installed my own right after buying it ten years ago since the lockers didn't work.

Changed the front and rear diff fluids. Discovered it had been through some water.

Installed lubelocker gaskets instead of RTV. We’ll see how they hold up.
