Instrument cluster locker light question

So I have a non Rubicon Jeep (2003 model) and I'm installing axles that have arb lockers in them. I would like to wire up the switches to the instrument cluster lights that light up the "front locker" and "rear locker" beside the 4WD light. Does my instrument cluster (non rubicon) have those cut outs for lights & the lettering? Has anyone done this? I like to look of stock stuff and having the lights right in my face will remind me its on...

I believe all Jeeps of the same year have all of the lights, just that hey aren’t used in most of them. This also applies to the shift light, the cruise control light, etc.

You’d have to read up on the function in the FSM to determine if the instrument cluster locker lights can be turned on or not. I seem to recall the instrument cluster actually having a role in turning the locker pumps on, but I could be confusing it with the PCM. The instrument cluster definitely controls other things, such as the heated back light timer.

Hey, I found a couple of pics that I had saved...

Ok looking at the bottom picture, few questions:

Do you need 4 diodes for wires 6, 7, 10, 16? Or can you use one diode for 6 and one or 10 (hot wires)?

I just wired it up and the lights are on and flickering constantly even if I disconnect the ground. When i remove the keys the lights still stay on. I’ m assuming i put the Diodes in the wrong way? :( time the break out the soldering iron again

It is easy to tell if the lockers are on by the behavior or the Jeep. Going perfectly straight is the only time you can't tell if they are on. Mine doesn't turn very well with the rear locked and even worse with both locked. When the front is locked the power steering make some noise. I think you will find that the lights only confirm what you are thinking by the behavior of the Jeep. You can always use switches that light up when turned on.

Yes, 4 diodes total. Two per locker.

I’m in the process of just wiring up the compressor. I have yet to install the lockers in the jeep. The compressor works, at this point I’m trying to tie in the lights on the dash:)

Mind you, this is not my mod. I have not yet done this. But, what I understand is that the locker light blinks (front or rear) if it doesn't receive a ground signal from two locations. That's why the two diodes for each locker.

My lights dont come on at all. 06 Rubicon. 4wd, F lock, R lock. What causes that? Those diode things?

No slow blink?
Are you sure you're locked?
Maybe the bulbs are burnt out or removed (for some odd reason).
