Those are pretty cool revolvers and priced well. I must admit though, I find 22lr kind of boring to shoot. I shoot mainly AR15's, AK's, an Extar EP9, 9mm handguns and a 1911 .45. I have two Ruger 10/22's and I haven't shot them in probably 4 years or so. I do need a revolver though, as I don't currently have one. Probably a Ruger GP100 in .357.

I've owned a few revolvers before, but sold them for one reason or another. I had a 6" S&W Model 19, a 4" Taurus Tracker, both of those in .357, and a 7.5" stainless Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum. I really regret selling that one.

Ruger Redhawk .44 Magnum

I have one of these.

As much as I love it, when it costs almost $1 per round to shoot, you can see why a .22 is appealing. Especially if I'm just taking pot shots.

The cost of ammunition these days is so much, that it's really deterred me from owning more guns than I otherwise might.

That is the exact reason why my 10/22 and marlin model 60 always make it out the the range while the AR and others are on rotation.

I have my father in-laws old Ruger single six, the gun from which the Wrangler clearly drew inspiration from. Great little gun. The sound of a single action revolver being cocked is strangely pleasing.

Yeah, 44 Mag is not cheap. 9mm is though, and I shoot a lot of that. It's as cheap today as it was in the early 90's if not cheaper if you shop around online which is the only way I buy ammo. .223 (5.56) and 7.62x39 are more expensive than the early 90's, but cheaper than it was prior to the 2016 election.

Of course, nothing is as cheap as .22 though.

I definitely need to get a 9mm, no doubt about that.

Same here. Everything else goes on rotation, but a 22 is something I could shoot daily and not fret over the price of ammo.

I mean 5000 rounds for $165~ is not bad at all.

I originally bought a Ruger SR22 for my wife. It is such a enjoyable gun it is now my go to for just taking out for a little fun. Plus I can tell myself I can afford more Jeep parts with all the money I saved on ammo.

My thoughts exactly. Go out in the woods and set up some targets. You could have fun all day with that 22 and not worry about the insane cost of some of the other rounds.

This is why in thinking about buying some sort of 22. I want to go shoot more often, but there’s no way I want to spend the money on some of the other more expensive rounds.

With a 22, the kids should be able to enjoy it as well.

I have the same gun. Great little pistol for shooting at cans.

Damnit guys, now I'm on a .22 kick haha.

Can anyone recommend a good .22 rifle? Something for plinking that I could pair with a scope?
