The shifter on my 2003 Rubi was unusually wobbly and after opening it I noticed that it was missing a couple of bushings. Because I couldn't find just the bushings I ended up ordering a new shifter tower from the US. I arrived today and after I installed it it still wobbles from side to side and doesn't return to the center. I say that because I also have a 97 Sport with the AX15 and the shifter springs back to the center. Is there something wrong in the NV3550 of the Rubi or is this normal?

Should return to N centered between 3rd & 4th.
Mine is an '05 Rubi, 220K miles.

Not sure the issue is a problem but after market manufacturers can do anything they want.
Not sure you can even buy the part from Chrysler anymore.
Is it a Chrysler part?

Is it driveable?

In that case the issue lies somewhere inside the tranny, damn it. The shifter tower is brand new so that can't be it.

I've looked the the FSM section on the transmission and don't see much on what centers the shifter so I'm thinking its the shift tower itself that does it, but I've never had mine out.
Thanks for looking. This issue is bumming me out to be honest.

The bushing didn’t fall off during shipping did it?
