Do all Dana 44 axles have limited slip?

I wont say I don't mean to butt in on your thread ...cause I do, but I got re-geared by a shop a few months ago. I have trac-loc.... does that mean they automatically replace my clutch pack too?

Yes but by 91k miles the clutch pack for your Tracloc LSD has worn out so it can no longer act as a LSD. So there's really no more need for the friction modifier that is in most gear lubes anyway. The Tracloc's clutch pack is normally worn out by 50k miles or so.
Do you know how much it could be to get new clutch packs installed? I also want to get a LSD in the dana 30 up front, NOT a lunchbox locker, will a LSD up front have any problems in 2H?

Get a Detroit Truetrac then. You won't know it's there at all in 2wd.

Awesome, this is kind of a dumb question, but could I put a locker on top of that in the future? Edit: also what spline?

No, you can't install a locker over/into a Truetrac limited slip differential.
Ok thanks, I know nothing about lockers/LSD's, the dana 30 detroit truetrac is a 27 spline, what are splines and will it fit my dana 30?

You have 3 real practical options for the front Dana 30, an open carrier, a Detroit Truetrac which replaces the open carrier, or an open carrier with a lunch box locker that replaces the spider gears. Don't get a Truetrac if you plan on using a locker later.

Yes, 27 splines is stock.

There is a prescribed test in the FSM to see if the Trac-Lok® is worn. See below, I just used my axle puller and double nutted the center bolt to apply the load, at 139K miles on the jeep the Track-Lok® was well within spec, BUT I do not know the history of the thing as far as if the PO ever changed the clutches prior to purchase, but I purchased it at ~ 55K.

My Jeep has a factory Trac-lok and mine will chirp the passenger rear tire on a hard right turn when you are giving it gas, so it seems to work somewhat, and mine has about 135k on it. Mine is at the shop as we speak getting new gears, Detroit Truetracs, and 1541H axles shafts, but as I dropped it off, my Trac-Lok seemed to be doing something.
