Daily Driving 35" M/T Tires

My MT/R's have been great. I'll typically drive 100-200 miles round trip to wheel and they are fine on the highway. They don't make any noise, that I can hear over the wind noise, and I don't drive any differently in the rain than I do the dry. I've driven with them in snow and ice also and while not as good as an all terrain I wouldn't say I drive any differently than I would in my pickup in the same conditions.

All that said it seems like lots of people are starting to using the milestar patagonia mt's and speaking highly of them.

If I needed new tires I'd buy another set of MT/R's at this point. They have done everything I've asked of them and more.

But at the end of the day we live in very different climates...

I think the Patagonia’s have a lot of social media bias, but that’s just an assumption.

Being entirely clear, I’ve worked at home for years- so my “daily driving” needs are just to hear my kids. Trail runs I don’t really mind the noise

It certainly does seem like the lite brite tire. I believe someone here is running it but I can' remember who.

I've always run MT's and have never had any issues, Mickey Thompson MTZ P3 and Dick Cepek extreme country. My BFG KM2 tires sucked in all conditions. Especially snow and mud.

I drove daily with 35" Grabber X3's. No issues in the rain or snow, and they're not bad on ice. Quiet on the road too.

I got my Patagonias at the very end of snow season. I did not like them. They are very slippery when wet. They break traction early during a hard brake. They squeal during tight turns. Off road, they are no better than my previous Cooper ST Max, which are comparable to the GY Duratrac. The Patagonias are much better now that I've heavily grooved them, but I would never recommend them for anyone who wants a tire that performs. They are a mediocre tire, despite what Kevin and Brittney say about them.

KM3’s. My current tires are undriveable in the rain and snow and have worn horribly. KM2’s just worked and they were great on wearing evenly. I wouldn’t look at anything else besides KM3’s.

I’ve got BFG 35” Muds on our 08 JK in the past 12 months, they are excellent. Gonna put them on the TJ when it needs tires in the next year.

I have BFG KO2 on the F150 and on a 2016 Expedition, I love them all. In Texas, they run rain better than past versions, except those times when it’s 100 degrees and has been dry for 3 weeks and it drizzles, the oil and heat on the road is slick as snot.
My 17 year old drives the 08, and those tires are as quiet as the ATs.

I’ve daily driven my km3 all this year and have about 10-15k on them. They are still as quiet as the day I bought them. Have not had any issues in any kind of weather, they are just a great tire. Better than my procomp xmt2 Atleast. I’ll def get another set when these wear down

I daily drive my LJR with Yoko Geolanders here in Florida. We get a ton of rain and these have yet to skip a beat, hydroplane, slide, nothing. I love them so far and am really impressed with how they've handled everything I throw at them. I drive my LJR on the highways a lot, 75-80 mph, and have all the confidence in the world in these.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, buy a tire for your climate. I didn't buy my favorite MT which are MTR w/Kevlar as they weren't great in the rain when my last 3 sets. My Cooper STT Pro's were great but reviews in the rain weren't spectacular. Any BFG I run from, especially KM/KOs, never liked them. Understand where you're going to use the tire and buy accordingly. Just cause a tire works when Im at doesn't mean it will meet your needs.

This is the next tire I plan to try out. When my MTR'S wear out. You should be the guinie pig!
Those look pretty nice. They look exactly like the Cooper STT pro tires. Same company now I think.

I've run Mickey Thompson on most of my Jeeps. The Dick Cepek EC tires (same company) had a $200 instant rebate so I bought them for my XJ. I thought the worst part would be dealing with the giant DC logo on the tread. I never even look at it and they are quiet and wear excellent.

Hopefully you'll get the Baja Bosses before I need to replace the Patagonias. I like the looks of them a lot, but a big part of me wants to go with the tried and true MTRk.

@strumble8 and @tworley - what do you think of the MTRs for our climate? Did you run them too @jjvw at any point, or just the Coopers then these Patagonias?
