Considering selling because I like the 2020 JL Willys. I know the TJ is a classic and my TJ in particular has been reliable, given me no problems in 6yrs of ownership. I've kept it simple and clean with only a 2" lift. So looking for opinions/POV as to why you would keep it. I know I will have a payment so I'm ok with that because I'm due for a new car anyway. The TJ has been my DD since 2018, but with working from home I have put maybe 600 miles this year. So keep the TJ and buy a fun DD OR sell the TJ to fund the 2020 JL Willys 2dr in sting grey?

It sounds like you’ve already convinced yourself to sell it. So why not just sell it then?

After owning a JK I’ll never consider anything other than a TJ, but different strokes for different folks 👍

I mean I would never sell a tj for a jk or jl especially a reliable trouble free tj.

This is probably a question for a jl forum where you can get people who more likely had both and can answer what they like/hate about the differences.

And you’re never due for a unnecessary payment plan.

This seems like an odd request, are you just bored and need to spend money? I feel like I'm not getting all the facts. It the TJ your only vehicle at this time?

Sounds like the TJ should be your fun DD, no? then just save for a JL if thats what you really want. Some of the JLs and JTs do look good, but they are so expensive I would never take them offroad. I beat on mine pretty good on the trails up here and only have to worry about being able to limp it home, and not about scratches and broken plastic. I also wouldn't want a car payment after not having one almost a decade.

I have considered buying a jku as it would be more practical for me with 2 boys and a 3rd on the way, but not to replace my TJ. It would be in addition to the TJ. The TJ is paid for, easy to work on, fun to drive, and simply has a sentiment to me that jk's and jl's don't. I've driven my brother's jku and I much prefer my TJ for many reasons. You may want to rent one as someone has already suggested and see. I would like to have a jku eventually but definitely not as a TJ replacement.

My brother sold his mint 05' Willys edition and bought a 4 door Willys for the extra room. He loved the ride and power of the 4 door, but missed the fun of driving the TJ. He gave the 4 door to his wife. Do whatever makes you happy. I personally don't like car payments.

Maybe you could sell me the tj for like few hundred bucks? 😂

no in all seriousness, don’t sell theTJ, statistically speaking they must be more reliable than the new Jeeps, and what does A 2Dr JK or JL have that you want that you can’t put in the TJ for cheaper? Plus the JK/JL crowd is no where near as cool as the TJ crowd,
