Hey all,
While vacuuming out my Jeep I found wetness and some rust under the passenger side carpet. The rust in the photo tells me it’s been there more than just today. Any common causes of water here?
Thanks

Update I explored the forum. Common question I see. Can’t figure out how to delete. Thanks for looking.

And check to make sure that you have a little black rubber elbow on the drain for your ac. It's on the passenger side, if the elbow is not there, at speed, the water can be forced backward into the cabin at the passengers feet.

Any chance you could post a photo of it? I don’t have any idea where that is. I appreciate the help btw.

I'd also been battling a mystery leak that appears on my passenger side floor. Can be from multiple places like as suggested blocked cowl drain. However mine persisted after cleaning out the drain. I poured some water over a few areas and sure enough on the heater core/air con inlet/outlet water trickled down into the passenger floor.

I think this was due to a poor seal on the hood/cowl weather stripping. So I replaced the weather stripping and coated the inlet/outlet foam.

Same problem here, Mine happens just sitting in the driveway when it rains. I've replaced cowl gaskets, door gaskets, changed out half door tops, cleaned cowl and cowl drain but it still leaks when it rains, has me stumped!

Well that doesn't give me much confidence mine will stop leaking. Same scenario heavy rain when parked.

I checked my main drain and it was not e problem. I’m In the same boat. Doing some more searching today. I’ll let you know what I find.

I had the same problem in my TJ. Finally figured out the it was the bower case seal to the firewall. Just tighten the nuts on the firewall side that hold the blower/evap case to the firewall. Mine were loose causing the seal between the case and fw to leak. I beat my head against the wall fir months tracking down that leak. Hope it helps.

Can you post a photo? Want to check see if it's an issue on mine.

I did check the blower seal and had some moisture, not pouring in water like that I see on my passenger floorboard after a rain so I went ahead and replaced the cowl gasket with the full length gasket and that stopped that but not the puddle on the floorboard.

Update: my vent looked clean but the drain was clogged. After a lot of water, compressed air and pine needles it’s now unclogged. I suspect that was my problem. Will report when it rains. Is there supposed to be a cover on my cabin air intake pictures below?

Update 2: purchasing a cowl cover and going to install as well. That plus the clear drain should be plenty of protection against the rains.
