New ARB. I closed the diff and I can't shootDid you install a used ARB or new one? And can you take pictures a little further back so we can see the whole thing at once
Picture #5 does look like the pinion may have contacted the carrier/ARB.The initial setting of the pinion depth may be out of spec to cause this.

New. It is installed twice. Installation only ARB, then disassembly and gear changeExactly why I asked new or used.

No noise or other problem. Maybe I should open it again and check for those scratches. There is a small axial and a small radial clearance in the axis of the pinion. Back and forth it is smaller than 1.0 mm, left and right 1-2 mm, externally, on the cardan shaft grip.Post number 9 pictures show what appears to be the pinion gear walking on the locker case. Either the gears were set up wrong or the pinion nut came loose allowing the pinion to make contact with the case. Are there any noises when driving? I'm leaning towards improper set up (too deep) which caused excessive contact which resulted in all the metal flakes.
All the marks on the case that are slanted like / / / / indicate the pinion gear making contact with the case.

Just an uneducated question but why am I seeing the inner bearing instead of an oil slinger?
