I bought one of the last LJ rubicon’s on the west coast in sept 2007, 11 years later and 25,000 miles I’ll probably never sell it
You, my friend, are one of the only TJ owners I have heard of who went from a 4.0 to a 2.5. Willingly, that is.I was the original owner of A tj in 1997. A 4.0l. Sold it a year later. Now I'm the owner of A 98 2.5l.

My story is the opposite. 1997 2.5 brand new, sold a year later to buy a 4.0.
Since you owned a new ‘97 I am hoping you can answer a question for me. I want to know if the TJ came with a running light/front blinker. My 1998 doesn’t have the stock blinkers and they are only blinkers. Would like to put combo in but want to know if the wiring is there for it.I would have been the original owner if my previous '97 TJ I bought new 5/22/96 hadn't been stolen ten years ago. Nope I am not the original owner of the 2004 TJ I bought as a replacement.
Wow, that's a lot! I paid an even $22K out-the-door for my brand-new fully loaded (a/c, Tracloc, ABS, 30" tire and aluminum wheel package, etc.) 1997 TJ 4.0 I bought in March 1996..I paid $28,000 for my TJ in 1997.
Yes mine did, the turn signal housings on the front of the fenders blinked and stayed on at night. I still use the OE wiring and bulb socket that I moved into a JK bulb housing mounted in the front grill.Since you owned a new ‘97 I am hoping you can answer a question for me. Did it ever get recovered in one piece or is it likely living it's life out in Mexico somewhere?I would have been the original owner if my previous '97 TJ I bought new 5/22/96 hadn't been stolen ten years ago. Nope I am not the original owner of the 2004 TJ I bought as a replacement.
Agreed-mine was $21,333 out the door with both tops, a/c, cruise, and 30" Gamblers, plus the add-a-trunk. I will see if I can post a pic of the window sticker, but not everything is listed as the dealer added the soft top and the trunk.Wow, that's a lot!
