TJ suspension height problems

...and rides stiff like my old lifted YJ.
Your tire pressure is fine, my bet your stiff ride is caused by nothing more exotic than the shocks included in the kit. Shocks and tire pressure are the two main factors in how a Jeep rides. Swapping the shocks out to a better riding model is my suggestion. One shock that is moderately priced that has a great ride, from personal experience, is the Rancho's newer gas-charged RS5000x... not to be confused with the older rough riding hydraulic RS5000.

I have 5.5" of lift in the front.
I have 4" of lift in the rear.
The rear is still 1" higher.
I tightened everything sitting on the tires.

It should be sitting 2.5" (roughly) lower in the back with only a 4" spring.
Im gonna take it all apart this days off. Im using the stock rear track bar cause the truss has a bracket built in to lift it, but I dont like it.

Your tub is not level with the frame... The side profile picture of your Jeep shows that the frame disappears more towards the front. The frame looks like it is higher at the front than the rear, supporting the more lift in front statement.

Does anyone else see that, or am I high?

So yours looks roughly like mine with no spacers. Here is my suggestion because I can't think of anything else, and I believe a 1.5 in space in the front is more than I would do. Since you are taking it all apart anyway. I would call Currie and tell them the issues you are having, and then have them measure a brand new front and a rear spring to make sure yours are what they are supposed to be. I don't think Currie makes less than a 4" but I could be wrong, but make sure your springs are the correct sized when you pull them out.

One thing I did notice different than mine is you have absolutely no weight over the rear end other than the top. I am running an oversized spare tire which pulls me down a bit. I also have a winch in the front. Not that that means anything because that would just pull your front down more, but I am just stating differences in our jeeps meaning you aren't going to get the same results as me anyway.

Ya the frame is sitting properly there. Its a Trailmaster lift but yds I will measure and call them to compare the springs. Id like it to sit flat as it is now because even without the hard top thee will be a full size spare and carrier. Ill keep posted what happens.
Thanks

Ah I must have read something wrong or assumed something, For some reason I thought you put a Currie on it. Yes I would call Trail master and find out what the springs should be and see if yours are the same.

Before I put my Currie on, I had a ARB 2" and mine had about 3 inch rake. It was pretty bad. I called ARB and they said since I didn't have an over-sized spare and a hard top that was the reason. Weirdly I took of my 2" and put it on my wife's TJ and no Rake. Then I put the Currie 4" on and I have the normal 2" rake. Although like I said I don't mind it because it levels out when I tow. This little things are quirky.

Have you "googled" to see if others with you lift are complaining of the same thing? I am not familiar with that lift maybe there is something about that lift you need to know?

This may be a dumb question, but I have seen people do this. When you installed the (rear) control arms and set them to the desired length, was the jeep on the ground, or in the air? If it was in the air, the arms are too long and will not allow the jeep to settle. Hope this helps...?
