Collapsing body mounts—best fix?

The front-most side body mounts on my TJ are both collapsing and I need to repair them. My plan is to Jack the body up one side at a time so that I can bang the body mounts back to flat, and then weld a 3/16" plate on top. It looks like I'll need to weld in new nuts at the tub as well, at least on the driver side. Can anyone think of a better way to make sure this doesn't happen again? The other mounts are in decent shape but the fronts arent liking going fast.

the 2nd pic is a single bend to the gusset resulting in a minimal curvature of the flat. i'd whack that back with a hammer and put it back together.
the 1st pic has totally failed at both gussets and the flat so it would get replaced.

Do you think plating over the top is a viable option, or just cut it off and make a new one? I have some nice thick walled rectangular tube that would probably work well.

The second pic is what I'm considering to be in good shape. Both sides in the front are like the first picture.

Genright is the better than either of those.

If plating ends up being the fix, the plate need to go below the mount, not above, unless all 11 mounts get the same plate.

I anticipated removing 3/16" from the sleeve or bushing if I put the plate on top. it's probably better to replace the mount though, rather than band-aiding the originals?

I started a couple of mounts that I think will work to replace the originals. The tubing I'm using is narrower than the factory brackets but the wall is thicker. Am I setting myself up to fail in some unforeseen way by using these? I know the off-the-shelf products would have better angles and stuff.

ya, your tube brackets would be fine.
just match the hole center off the frame and mounting height, they are not all the same

I removed the body mount yesterday and the upper nut just fell out. I guess I have to fix it now  The way that it fell out I was able to stick it back in place, and I thought for a moment that I might get away with just welding the nut back in. I don't want to risk it breaking again though, so I'm going to go ahead with the welded nut plate addition. To account for the thickness of the plate I removed some height from the bushing, as well as beveling the top edge to fit inside the mushroom sleeve. I took an equal amount off of the base of the sleeve as well, so it should bolt back up with about the same height as the rest of the mounts. I knicked the frame a bit with the sawzall so I'll have to weld over that too.
