I’m biased....I happen to think half doors on LJs look better than on a regular TJ. The elongated body just works better. Same goes for the scrambler vs. CJ7. They are by far my favorite addition to both of my LJs and they were from a 2001 TJ lol

I don’t see too many LJs with half doors on the road and here in CA they are a hot item. Let’s see pics of your LJs with half doors. Flaunt them if you got them.

They do look good. They balance the length out visually somehow.

We have a dark green 4 door JK in town with half doors on 35" tires, it is immaculate...looks incredible with the top down. Half doors work on long rigs.

Good thread.

yes, but my wife wouldn't ride around with me like that, lol. so, I painted them rattle can black in the meantime until I can get them body matched.
I've been tempted to do that also. I finally decided I could not do the unmatched silvers anymore but black goes with anything.

How do they seal up for road use?
They really don't "seal" up as far as being weatherproof. However, they fit well and don't rattle.
I suppose you could put some weatherstrip around the edges. They also accept Bestop uppers.

My experience was totally different. The rattling was driving me insane until I added weatherstrip. Haven't really driven in the rain to know how well they seal up but the AC just managed to keep it mostly comfortable with the 90° air coming in between the uppers and lowers on the highway. I could put some velcro down to hold that flap to the lower but then I'd have a strip of black velcro when I went without the uppers, which is most of the time.

The Bestop latches still rattle a lot and I hate it, but it's not as quick a trip to Joker levels of insanity as it was without the weatherstrip.

I'm probably going to end up selling them and buying some OEM half doors to put on the LJ.
