What did you do to your TJ today?

FINALLY got her back from the shop after nearly 2 months (*insert long rant about warranty companies here*) with a new transmission, new spider gears, and a new set of KO2s. My dog lost her mind when she saw the Jeep in the driveway and I had to take her with me to the car wash.

Was it a difficult job getting them to fit?
Actually I had to make metal brackets for right side for Passenger side and the left side bracket for the drive side here in the USA.
The inner bracket mounted via a drilled hole. Honestly it turned out great but the biggest difference from the cloth seats is the butt sliding on the leather seats more.
For a couple hours of work and better seat functionality it's a mod I would recommend.

Didn't even make it 20min on the trail this past Saturday for my snow shakedown run/locker test, to find out my NEW Elocker wasn't working.

Spent the next day testing and removing it for warranty. Coil inside isn't energizing enough to hold the magnet engaged OR the tabs on stator are fckd. The box arrived looking like UPS dropped it 10 times. Eaton said they have had issues with their magnets and shipping damage. Said I will be impressed with the new boxes...how bout being impressed with a locker that actually works!

So now I wait 4 weeks for a new one and put stock carrier back in ...could have use my front locker in the below pic hahah

@Chris announce this man as the winner of this month's contest !

Replaced with the Napa Legacy AGM. Made by Deka.

I'm reading good things about these. I'm keeping my current Duralast alive via trickle charger as I plan to park it for a while for some major upgrades. Basically get a start to go somewhere and a (with fingers crossed) start on the return trip. MAYBE risk a single stop. ;) Winter isn't helping. Luckily working from home mostly these days.

Once those get through, I plan to replace the current beat battery with the same option you did.

Deka is supposed to make a good AGM battery. Odyssey was my first choice but no one around here stocks them.

Optima and anything made by Johnson Controls was last on my list.

Unfortunately the AutoZone AGM battery that was in my truck took a shit overnight. It was fine last night, only had 2.7 volts this morning.

Any other advantage other than a new Alien shade hat :) lol, I cant see over the hood on my 06, I could on the 99 I borrowed for a few months, will this make the seats too high I am 5' 9 ?
My problem is (well one of them anyway) is at 5' 5in I probably need a seat riser but then I'd need platform shoes to reach the peddles lol

My dad duct taped a block of wood to the gas pedal of his truck back in the 80’s so my 4’ 10” mom could drive it with the seat slid all the way forward. LOL.

haha I get my height (cough cough) from my mum...all 4ft 9in of her...we are all Hobbits in my family. (my Dad at 5ft 7in seems tall)

Why does that first pic make me think of the song Baby Got Back? "I like big butts and I cannot lie..."! :ROFLMAO:

Bought my LJ on Jan. 20. It’s cold out there so I haven’t done much yet. Last Saturday I picked up my wheels and tires from swapping the good tires from the 05 TJ rims to the 06 LJ rims. The “before” tires were just to trailer it home. They were shot.

Round Tail light swap, spare tire delete, and ordered savvy engine skid+BL+MML, and Rancho5000x shocks. the wallet needs a break till tax time.

Did a "tune-up" this past weekend. New plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor. I'd noted some unevenness on idle and some roughness under power and figured it was a good reason to do some routine maintenance.

The Champion spark plugs I pulled out looked pretty new, I'm guessing the PO had them replaced. There was a healthy amount of browning on the ceramic, a little soot in the inset between the plug body and ceramic; otherwise, plugs look excellent. I put in new Autolite 985 Platinum plugs with some dielectric on the threads and silicone grease on the contacts.

The plug wires I removed were AC Delco - not sure if they are original, but they were pretty inflexible. While I don't think they needed replaced, I did it anyway since I was doing everything else. I really like NGK products and have had great luck with them, so used them here.

The distributor cap had some build-up on the contacts. I'm guessing it had been replaced since it had tin contacts instead of brass. I put in a new NAPA Eschlin cap. I also put in a new Eschlin rotor since I had it open. The old one was brass and had some pitting along the edge.

Overall, probably an hour of work - but fully half of that was figuring out how to do the work efficiently without risk of mixing up wiring.

Results? A small improvement. There's a small improvement in idle, although no difference under power. Still glad I did it, now I know all that stuff is high quality.
