Hmmm, maybe this is an export thing. I don't think I have those on my TJ (or any TJ I've owned).

Doesn't look like anything I have seen on a US production Jeep.
They look factory, I mean they havnt been added aftermarket or ever been used.
I originally thought they were for the front Fogs that were not added to the Aussie 06 because there is one either side near the headlights but they dont look like the US Fog plugs I have seen!

Definitely looks factory, pick up the wire colors and look thru the FSM.

Definitely looks like it’s in a factory loom.. Take a look in your FSM, toward the end of section 8w there are pictures of harness routing as well as connector pin outs. It’ll be in there if it’s factory.

Just went thru the 06 FSM export wiring and I concur, the only problem is wtf is a headlight leveling motor.
My wife's Lexus has them, so have a couple of my Bimmers. The ones I'm familiar with level the headlamps based on the angle of vehicle squat, they also steer left & right depending on steering angle. Pretty pointless if you ask me. Just point the headlamps forward & make some light, I'll figure it out.

In some parts of the world cars are required to have a remote adjustment to keep the lights from rising up into the oncoming traffic. So if you have cargo, backseat passengers, etc, you were supposed to adjust your lights down based on how much you were likely to be sagging in the back. The TJs had a manual adjustment system; most cars now are completely automatic.

The Jeep system consisted of two adjusting motors and a four position switch in the cabin. Here's the page in the manual that talks about it:

Interesting, learned something new.

Mine here in New Zealand has those plugs so would confirm its an export thing I guess, always wondered what they were.

So the plugs are there but no one has the motors? Was it just an option then?

Thanks people 5Pm Monday and I am back from work lol.
Now I want to see if our UK friends have the motors especially the Grizzly model :)

OK, well, my UK Grizzy has the same plugs as yours next to the headlights. It also has the headlamp levelling cntrol to the right and below the steering wheel. As it is only noon here I can't be certain if anything happens when I move the switch, but it does not seem to be doing anything. Very odd to fit the switch but not the motor, and if it was a legal requirement that is extra strange.

I saw a truck on the interstate this weekend that could have used those. He was pulling a camper and either had everything stored in the front of it, 2 tons of dirt in his bed, or the wind was pushing the camper tongue down. Because his chains were dragging and his rear bumper was dangerously low to the ground. That and he was doing around 55 mph while the rest of us were going 80 mph....errr 75 like the sign says.

I bet his lights would have affected air travel more than illuminated the road.

Winds were crappy again here yesterday at 30-40 mph. Most of the semis were tilted to one side driving in the wind too.
