I am installing Rancho5000x shocks on my 2006 TJ. The bottom bolts are on a bracket that does not seem to lay flat. Should it be facing in or out, or it doesn’t matter? Thanks.

It doesn't matter. That pin moves in that bushing, so once you tighten the bottom bolts it'll be flat

Use a wire wheel to remove all that rust first.

NNNNOOO....might be only thing holding it together.

Don’t want to remove All that rust, something has to hold the shock.
Exactly....

Sometimes less is more.

P.s.

I'm actually surprised @Chris or someone else didn't have a full blown coronary after seeing all that rust. 🤣😎🤣

IMO, you should rotate the pin (level) first. Sure it will bolt down flat when you tighten it, but you wont know if the bolt is still binding inside the bushing.

Sounds like a case of Bidendenial!
Uuhh...don't ever associate that last name with me.

I'm actively looking for a country that has freedoms, a constitution, voting is sacred, etc.
The old United States of America was pretty great. If you happen to find one after that model let me know because this version of the United States of America is a complete sham and debacle.
