Hi jkp first time it blew out was stock factory one replaced it with cheap China crap and it lasted about a month or so. You would b driving along and it would start missing really bad and if you pulled over and shut it off restarted it it would be good for couple hours then do it again. Then it finally blew the cheap.one bought a factory one it lasted few days and blew out. I parked it and haven't messed with for bout year but getting the bug to get it going.

Ok, I had issues with the Chinese ones blowing on my YJ, to include the MSD and MOPAR ones that are now made in China. But that is a single old style coil. Only decent one I found was Blue Streak, made in Poland, not China.

I'm not sure where the MOPAR rails are made now.

Didn’t have any problem with my coil pack, but didn’t like how clunky they were. And a pita to check individual plugs.

Replaced mine with a Viper coil from these guys:

But I’d make sure I didn’t have any shorts, or bad grounds or whatever. I’m sure you could smoke a Viper coil too.

Much easier for me to check for bad plugs now.

@Wranglerfix may have some feed back, if he’s seen this he will likely know what is causing a spike or short. He’s got a lot of valuable knowledge and experience.

Oh cool thank you I like that set up. Good price to

Good morning @Stevecam i would check and double check your wiring...I can test your pcm in my Jeep but I don’t think that’s the issue (yet.)

Do you ever have high transmission temperatures or erratic shifting?

The attached photo is a common Engine harness failure on the 05-06’s.

Oh crap. Yea that looks bad. No it never did anything funny shifting or acting weird the only problem I had with it was it burnt out the blower motor switch for the fan replaced it but never used it afterwards. I was paranoid of it burning Jeep down haha

I’m happy with it.

If you get one, be aware of the firing order change. Viper coils come off a V-10, so the firing order molded on the coil doesn’t apply.

Raffi at Ksuspensions has a diagram showing what you wanna do.

I got the kit with wires and bracket. Super easy install.
