Single DIN touch screen

Did you need a special wiring harness or bezel to install that? Would you get the same one again? I'd like something similar, but with a thinner bezel and/or an external volume knob
Just took a single DIN adapter I bought on Amazon, which also came with the wiring adapter. I’d definitely buy it again… It looks like it was made for the TJ. The addition of the steering wheel controls definitely made up for no hard buttons.

This is sick! I didn't know there were touch screen head units. They certainly didn't have any on the market when I replaced mine years ago. Thanks for sharing OP! I think I might have to get one.

Oh thanks. Mine already came with an aftermarket stereo so I'm probably good to go, eh?

I replaced my stock HU with one of the single DIN android units and to be honest it worked great but the screen was a bit too small for my eyes and fingers to press the icons reliably while driving. Ended up replacing it with a larger double DIN Sony unit but I still have the single DIN unit here in a box in case anyone would like to give it a try. It's this unit here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07X556HLQ/?tag=wranglerorg-20

If you were on this side of the county I'd take you up on that.
Since you're in CA there will likely be someone closer that will reach out.

I just ordered this one: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_110CAR910X/Jensen-CAR910X-does-not-play-discs.html
I got an extra $25 using the coupon code 25MILITARY

It will fit in Single-DIN with minor modifications to the area behind the factory stereo.

I'm really curious to see how this turns out! I like that it has a volume button

The only issue I have with volume "knobs" on these modern units is that they are rarely actually a linear based potentiometer like we used to have. Yes, its a "knob" but behind the scenes it just increments a volume button up or down with each 'click' and many times the 'clicking' cannot keep up with rapid changes in the knob meaning the responsiveness in change is no longer anywhere close to what a classic potentiometer would be like.

Also curious to hear if this is a REAL knob or just a simulated knob attached to click-based buttons instead :)

Meh- not ideal, but not a big deal. That only affects fine tuning, while I like the knob to do big adjustments without stabbing a button for five seconds
