First off--Not my birthday.

Over the last few weeks I have seen numerous vehicles with this written on the back window. "its my birthday! Cash app me @{insert user name}".

Really? Why? I find this interesting and sad at the same time.

What does that say about these people? Would they honestly just go up to a perfect stranger with their hand out and announce "It's my birthday." Isn't that the same thing as advertising it on their vehicle?

And are there really other people just driving around searching for ways to give away money to strangers? How much money are these people with birthdays really making on the Cash App?

it is the new handout setup. Like gofundme. They have their purposes, as well as ways to abuse them

In a much light-hearted way. "its my birthday!" vs "my family just died in a tornado and I can't cover the funeral expenses". I've donated money to gofundme, but I did know the individual who had set it up and knew the individual who was being affected. I am not about to hand out money to a tween who I dont know and couldn't care less about their birthday

Funny you mention this! I've been seeing this all around lately painted on the back of car windows.

I was commenting to my wife how it's pathetic, to which she replied, "Yeah, but if people are sending them money can you blame them?".

She has a point, but still, what's up with this generation of kids wanting "free" everything.

I don't understand all this entitlement, even hearing my sister in law's friends talk about work and how they are owed this and that from the customers that come into the store they work at... I try to chime in with real perspective but they are still just detached from reality.

I saw one the other day "buy the bride a drink @#" Thought it was pathetic but some idiots must pay??
Seen that one too. It’s the same as those people who stand on street corners and beg. They wouldn’t do it if they didn’t make money.

I'm the same way. I've seen some gofundme for people whose "dream it was to go to x place". No shit! I want to go places too, hence I save up to do it!

I just hope the same people asking for money are the ones that donate when they see a sign. I highly doubt that's the majority of cases though. I don't mind giving random people money but my rule is they need to be doing something to earn it. Whether that's selling small packs of gum, playing an instrument, or showing off a skill such as dancing or art.

victims of wildfire, natural disasters, etc is a different story.... I have no problem blindly donating to people in situations like that.
