I know the name of the thread probably doesn't make sense for most of you however my Jeep is not the norm. I have full width axles and the frame side LCA mounts sit really low and take a lot of hits as well as act as anchors. My axle side mounts are outboard of the frame and flush with the bottom of the axle so I thought about outboarding the frame mounts and making them flush. During full flex I doubt the arms would get hung up.

I think I would shorten then a little so they wouldn't I therfore with the existing body mount. I would do the same to the uppers. For you fab guys out there, what are your thoughts? Here are a couple of pics to noodle over.

I dont have personal experience but I will say I have seen it done. First thought was the savvy lj that uses a jk frame and also a guy on instagram that I've followed for some time. I'd assume you would have to change other links a bit to get the geometry right .

If you move the links outside the frame, then move them up, you will want to raise the upper mounts too. Too little frame side separation really screws up the way a rig performs.
I've seen people put the control arms outside the frame to accommodate trailing arm suspension like the pic above, but not for clearance.

Shortening the uppers is in the cards as well. It will probably work out better anyway since placing them on the top frame side setting will get me a bit more separation. I currently have to keep them on the middle setting since they'll hit the tub. I will get new 3 position brackets for the uppers. Once I move them I no longer have that issue.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I've decided to wait since outboarding would not work. I wouldn't have enough separation on the frame side so I'd have a lot of anti squat.

The plan I have will require a BL, MML, TT, a new custom crossmember, and cutting a bit into the tub. My cat back would need to be changed as well. I'm not quite ready for that much down time. My son will be doing a lot to his over the next few months and we'll experiment on his to see how well it works.

One question I have is with a super high TT has anyone found that heat gets trapped which makes the floor hotter than normal? If so, how has anyone gotten around that?

I didn't notice any difference
