Post up your red TJs with tan / camel interiors

I just decided to paint em today came out good, I like the old square ones more than the new ones anyways.

And that’s big money for some mirrors compared to $10 in supplies.
I agree with you. I tried the newer style mirrors and hated them. I ended up painting my original mirrors, and much prefer them.

Here is mine with a spice top and camel interior.

Was exterior red with black interior more common than a grey interior? Mines grey, though its also a 97 so I dont know if that might have just been an early version color combo...

I have a Mist Gray interior as well, and that color was only available in 1997 and 1998. The other color was called Saddle. Jeep didn't offer a black interior in 1997 or 1998.

I remember when I was looking at Jeeps in 1999, the vast majority of them that I saw had the Saddle color interior. I was not a fan of that color in a black Jeep, but I think it looks pretty good in a red Jeep.

I like the color combo so much, i snapped this terrible photo in traffic. There’s no tan top available anymore for an LJ, but I’m wrestling with the idea of forking over the cash for a custom top.

Yep, mine is a 97 in PR4 “Flame Red” exterior and “Saddle Tan” interior.

It looks amazing! I’m hoping to do something similar with my LJ, although I’m starting with dark gray interior.

My only issue with yours is you should have stuck with the Ravines! 😉

Ravines are my favorite factory wheel, so we are in agreement here. Unfortunately, the original wheels weren't salvageable. I spent a couple months looking for a suitable set, with no luck. I did come across a pristine set of Moabs, with new tires. For the price, I couldn't turn them down!

What paint did you use? did it match the Flame Red PR4 well or did you just spray over all the old paint?

Mine was Chili Pepper Red and I used Nason. I stripped it all down and did a complete re-paint.

damn you guys now I want to interior swap my LJ.

I suppose I could do the two tone thing like BMW and just do the seats and carpet, and leave the dash and console black.

Or do like my old MX-5 and leave the carpet and upper dash black, but swap the seats, console and the lower dash panels.

I just REALLY don't want to pull the dash unless there's a more compelling reason to do it.

I've decided black and tan look good together, so I'm tentatively planning a partial tan interior. I've got tan WeatherTech floor mats that complement the dark gray carpet. I'll probably do a tan leather shift boot. All of it has to wait until I can get the tan soft top. It has to be custom since there's no Spice top for LJs. The shop can make me a tan LJ top as soon as they get in material... expected in February. They said they're not even taking new orders for the rest of the year.

Pulling the dash out of the TJ is time consuming, but so easy a caveman could do it? lol
My Jeep was originally Spice when I bought it, but the mildew didn't compliment the Spice and I hate that color myself, just a weird ugly shade?
EDIT: Except for red, Spice looks great on that color IMO (which is worthless).

The color of your Jeep (which I LOVE btw) looks way better with black than the way my mind is picturing it with spice.
