What did you do to your TJ today?

Decided to go…”side less” still have the factory too on but no doors and no windows! Also added some Rugged Ridge HD floor mats.

"Side less" That's how I Jeep most of every summer because even in Ohio the sun is just too much. I only close it up if there is more than a day or so of rain in the forecast but I bet you don't experience much of that.

I think we need an official start day like the "go topless" get.

Replacement mopar fan clutch arrived in the mail today.
did it in the dark with a cell phone for light... this jeep has to be the worst for getting that large nut off the water pump shaft. I fought it for a few hours last time too when doing the water pump.

attempted using the fan clutch rental tool from local auto supply shop and bent the hooks on the end of the tool again, just like last time. damn thing kept slipping off the bolt heads.
attempted chaining the water pump pulley bolt to the idler pulley bolt but saw a bit of deflection when trying to turn the large clutch nut. went through the coffee can of miscellaneous nuts and bolts and found a 2 longer bolts that fit the water pump pulley holes & managed to get the fan clutch tool behind the heads and the hub nut spun right off.

assuming it was a original, no mopar part numbers on it but it was stamped Delphi and was a bit thinner than the superseded part number I ordered.

Finally got the wheels back on and off the jack stands. Tightened everything up once the weight was on the wheels. Almost done with the lift install. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to install the JKS adjustable front track bar and then go over all the bolts with the torque wrench. Would adjustable upper control arms help with front drive shaft clearance? Looks like I have about 1/3rd of an inch right now from hitting the transmission crossbeam. Top is before. Bottom is after.

Picked up some half doors for the LJ. I bought them from a guy in Phoenix. I am near Los Angeles (don't hate me for that, I am a Republican). He had some work in Vegas, so I picked them up there. Good excuse to go!

Very clean, no rust, good door panels, wrong color. I can fix that.

ive got a chunk of flat stock in the garage I had used to align the cams one my old escort at one point, it was brought up to do but I was determined with the rental. im fairly stubborn. though that probably would have worked better. in my head I figured taking the time to get the bar, measure the holes out, drill them.. id have to go down in the basement and get more tools out then put them back... bah. majority of vehicle tools are outside, drills, measuring tools and bits are in the basement.

But it's an opportunity to play with your tools.😃
