    I'm not sure how a bad flasher relay could cause that problem without looking at a schematic but it looks like it did, so I would get another relay.

    If 1-3/4 inches is causing vibes you may have a u-joint going bad because it shouldn't cause any angle vibes.

    A harmonic hum or vibration would make me look for a bad transmission mount or motor mount or maybe someone replace one of them with poly instead of rubber.
