    Temp guage acted odd

I have a 2006 TJ with the 4.0 engine and Auto trans. I recently replaced the radiator (bought a factory one from Jeep Dealership), the water pump, thermostat and the overflow bottle. All has been working quite well. Temp guage stays just south of the 210 mark and has been steady. A few days...

Who's had luck finding a Mopar radiator?

I replaced the radiator in my 2006 TJ a few months ago I went to the local Jeep Dealer in Albuquerque, NM and ordered it. Took a couple weeks to get here, they said the delay was supply chain something or other but it looks to be OEM. Matched my old one exactly. It cost more than after...

Should I replace my OPDA if it works?

Now that I decided to go ahead with replacing, is it best to remove the OEM cam sensor before taking the OPDA out of the engine or after. Seems like before would make more sense to avoid damage to it and make access to the hold down clamp a bit easier. As I recall, when I did this job before...

Should I replace my OPDA if it works?

I think all of you helped me make my mind up. To see if my original factory one is ok, I need to pull it and check the gear. As long as the cam shaft gear looks good and the old one is out, might just a well put in the Crown unit. Knowing my compulsive nature I wouldn't be able to stop at...

Should I replace my OPDA if it works?

I did this job before and it is not difficult if you are careful. First, I took the plastic cap off the OE OPDA so I could see where the holes for the pin that comes with the new Crown unit are. They need to line up so you can put in the pin. Note that the crankshaft will turn two times for...

Should I replace my OPDA if it works?

I have a 2006 pretty much stock TJ. It has the 4.0 engine and the factory OPDA. I put the Wrangler Fix PCM in about a year ago to fix hard shifting auto trans. I have had no other issues, runs fine. I have 132,000 miles and the factory OPDA. I listened to it with a stethascope, no odd...

    Introduction and pre-purchase advice

First, even though you are in Nevada, check the frame carefully for any rust issues, particularly inside the frame. TJ frames are notorious for this. I'm in New Mexico so I have not had an issue. If the Jeep was always in Nevada maybe you don't either. Next, rethink putting way oversized...

    05-06 PCM issue is solved

I've had the wrangler fix in my 2006 TJ for almost a year now, no problems at all. You will be happy.

    White wheels: cool or lame?

I like it. Anything that makes a Jeep look more like a Jeep is a good idea.

Poll: Which one of these stickers do you like for my front quarter panel?

I always put a "Eugene the Jeep" sticker on my Jeeps. Seemed appropriate.

Is this my rear main seal leaking?

I had this issue too, thought it was the RMS, but in my case it was the two bolts at the back of my oil pan were not tight enough. I fixed that and have not have any leak at all back there. But I have had three TJs now and the other two needed the RMS replaced. Most with the 4.0 do sooner or...

Who has driven with their windshield down?

Here in New Mexico, I drove my old M38A1 Military Jeep with the windshield down and the Police were all over me. Said I had to have a motorcycle helmet to do that. Have not tried it since.

    TJ leans towards passenger side

I used to have this problem on the Jeep CJs and Military Jeeps I've owned over the years. Used to drive me crazy. The only explanation I ever found is what Jerry said, torque that caused one side to lean. For the older Jeeps it was always the driver's side that was lower. I have a 2006 TJ...

CJ style turn signals added to the TJ grill

I think this is a great idea. I like the CJ turn signals much better. What if anything will you do with the TJ fender turn signals? Would look better if there is a way to get rid of those. Guess you would need to weld in covers to mod the fenders.

Should I buy a JKU with the 3.8?

You should only buy this Jeep if you want it. That's really all that matters. if you do I hope you enjoy.

TJ Buying Advice - Newbie Member

Yes, I loved it too. Iv'e had a number of the older Willy's Jeeps, a few military, M-38, M38A1 and a 1942 Ford GPW. Then a few civilian. CJ-5, CJ-2 and my favorite CJ3B with an odd fire V-6 and the T-90. They were all great and I miss them, was stupid to sell them. The original Jeeps, built...

TJ Buying Advice - Newbie Member

Too bad your so far away. I have a 2006 TJ with the 4.0, but it's an automatic. In perfect shape, in New Mexico it's whole life, no rust, 121K miles runs great has a new wrangler fix PCM so no transmission shift problems, kaki color with soft top and half doors, 2 inch lift with MOAB wheels...

Opinions on Valvoline flushing the fluid on my 42RLE?

I just had the T-case and differential fluid/oil replaced in my 2006 TJ. I have the 42rle trans and would like opinions on having the local Valvoline oil change place flush out the old fluid and replace. ATF 4 of course. Is this a good idea, or is it necessary to go to a trans shop and have...

    Another post about frame rust

Really, you drove 20 miles with nothing holding the T case up. That could end up bad. While your working on your frame rust put a floor jack or jack stand under the Tcase. Get a good look inside your frame and see if your rotting from inside out. Then if the frame looks ok, clean it and...

99 TJ Gas Overflows While Filling Tank

My 2006 TJ does the same thing. It sort of spits up gas when it's close to being full, kinda like it burbs. I just got used to taking a bunch of paper towel at the gas pump and rapping it around the nozzle so the burped up gas gets caught by the paper towel. Usually happens right when the...
