could it be a defective directional bulb? That will also cause a fast flash with conventional bulbs.

when it blinks fast have you checked to see if the brake/tail light works then? I thought the same on my D/S light when intermittently it would blink fast, then got pulled over by a cop who informed my brake light was not working as well. Replaced both tail lights with the black magic brakes...

Several are going the app route, especially higher end vehicles. My wife's previous Benz (2016) needed the app (never worked) so no remote start, subscription starts after 3 years...yeah FU. When we were looking for a replacement, that was one of the first things I looked for - fob based.

so that is a yes? how do you attach the chains?

I have to say my new to me 2023 Infinity QX60 has no subscriptions...that I know of. At least the remote start is in the key fob and not some Ap on the phooooone like my wife's benze did that we got rid of for this.

There was a guy around here that put the scrambler decals on his new Gladiator. Have to say it looked pretty good....at least for a gladiator.
