Mine done he same thing, turned out the ignition coil located on the left side of the engine under the distributer. The coil was cracked and allowing moisture to get in. If not then clean your iac or throttle body with some carb cleaner. That ethanol fuel will build up gunk in it.

I have a 1998 Jeep TJ 2.5l 5 speed with 115,000 mi. And will go up. It's in pretty decent shape considering it's 20 years old but it's not new so it has some scratches here and there but no dents. Has a tan 2 piece Hard top, carpet, 4.10 gears, Tires are good, replaced spark plugs and coils...

I have the 2.5 with 4.10 on stock wheels and have no problem hitting 80 in the flats. Hills are a different story. Usually have to drop to third to gain any speed. At 3k rpm in 5th, I’m running around 72mph. May need a regear ole tater.

Update: After about a week of trying the amplifier out, it didn’t take care of my led noise from the fog lights. On a high note, in some situations to where some radio stations are faint, it will pick them up a little better but nothing tremendous like you would expect. Another thing I noticed...

That’s a great idea. I’ll be honest, I don’t like the wire taps either but I guess the previous owner added a 6 disc changer and they used them so I used what was already there. I never used the changer so I took it and all it’s components out with it.
