    Where did this come from?

So I’m changing my connecting rod bearing on my 99 2.5L and as I’m turning the crank, this thing falls to the floor. I can’t confirm it came from inside the engine though. Any thoughts as to what is is and it’s function? Thanks, Chris

1999 2.5L SE - Idle speed changes when moving damper switch position?

So, I ordered a used climate control module for my 99 SE that does not have A/C. After I put it in, I noticed that the idle changed with the position of the damper just like a car with A/C does. I don't think it did this with the original unit. I'm Just curious if anyone else's "Non A/C" TJ does...

Oil at 80 lbs. on 4.0?

Mine did it today, all the way up to 80psi. Stopped at O'reilly and picked up the "Standard" brand oil pressure sender and it is working fine now at around 40psi. I used a 22mm deep socket and it worked great.

Help me find picture of a red TJ with white steel wheels

White Wheels 1 White Wheels 2 White Wheels 3 White Wheels 4 I'm considering one of these. I run 31x10.5R15 and I like the wheels tucked in under the fenders, so a +6 or +13 offset works for me. As far as I can tell a 10.5 inch tire is the max width you want to put on a 7 inch rim. Anyone run...

    Squeaky Clutch

No, my noise is always there. It's got to be a pivot bushing or mounting bracket flex or something like that in my case. It's not as loud as yours though. Yours definitely sounds like it is coming from the pedal assembly. It sounds like the pitch is changing as the pedal travel changes. Or...

    Squeaky Clutch

Yeah, looks like it's time for a new master cylinder. I got the complete system already filled and bled from O'Reilly's Auto Parts. Power Torque Clutch Master And Slave Cylinder Line: PTQ | Part # PFHK9085 As far as that noise, I have that same noise even after replacing the whole system. It...

    The SE / Four Cylinder / Four-Banger / Four-Popper / 2.5L / 2.4L Resource

My 99 SE gives me all the joy I need! 31's, 1" Body lift, H&R Springs and some heavy duty armor underneath. Can't even hear the piston slap if I turn the radio up!

    Long center console bracket?

I just got a full center console for my 99 SE as well. I think I can do without the two screws you are talking about on the lower right side, but it also seems to need a bracket up front that catches the tab on the console to stabilize it. Anyone able to snap a photo of how it looks? I might...

    Knocking noise coming from engine

Like Dock-Rocker said, it could be worn bushings on the transfer case linkage. I had same symptoms and ordered the Crown Automotive kit which took care of the noise. I only had to change the main brass bushing which was worn and causing the rattle. Linkage Kit

How can I connect headlights so that they turn off with the ignition?

Hi All, The headlights on my 99 SE stay on independent of the ignition switch position. So, of course I forget to turn them off when I park the Jeep, especially on rainy days and there goes my battery! So, does anyone know of a way to connect their function to the ignition switch so they turn...

Looking for a factory center console (what years will fit?)

Looking for the OEM full center console for my 99 TJ SE 5 speed that currently has the "short" console. Is there a range of years that will bolt right in? Are they the same for auto and manual trans? I have the passenger air bag switch module at the front of my current console. Thanks

    Guess that noise

Wasn't there something about the flywheel bolts loosening up or some kind of flywheel shield or plate loosening up that made that kind of noise? I seem to remember something like discussed that a while back...?

Can't decide on flooring options (opinions wanted)

I ordered BedTred, but I'm exchanging it for BedRug. The BedTred is really like a plastic shell with a foam backing. I'm sure it is durable and stuff, but after trying to fit one rear panel, I knew right away I wasn't going to like the fit. It wasn't flexible enough to lay flat on the tub in...

    Driveline Play?

How much "play" or "slack" should there normally be when turning the driveshafts by hand with wheels on the ground? I think I have a good 5-6mm of rotation left and right on both front and rear shafts. Also there is vertical movement on the yoke coming out of the rear of the transfer case. It is...
