Just my two cents,, I just installed a new radio and new speakers in my TJ. Bought everything I needed from Crutchfield including the readymade harness for $24.95. This was my first time installing a radio and along with crutchfield and the folks on this forum, it was easy. Good luck!

You might want to go read up on this part in the TJ resource page, I believe I read that the 2005 TJ had a recall on this part. Good luck.

It was a nice doors off kinda day, I just drove the Jeep. One of the grandkids said that my Jeep was sick. I said sick? “you know that means really cool.” I’m getting old.

I had a kenwood dual TM-G707 for a time, I’m no longer an active ham operator, but I can tell you it was a great little radio, the removable face plate makes It easy to mount in a Jeep. Have fun.
