    Overheating Transmission

Thanks for the feedback. The current cooler setup was done by the previous owner so I am not sure what there reasoning was, but I am going to go ahead and route back through the radiator and then through the aux cooler. I am also going to add a temp gauge so that I can monitor it. If that...

    Overheating Transmission

I was finally able to get my LJ out of the garage and up to the mountains this weekend, but as soon as I got to the trailhead I discovered I had ATF spewing from somewhere on the upper passenger side of the tranny. I wasn't quite sure at the time where it was all coming from (it seemed like a...

Trying to figure out current gear ratio

Trying to figure out current gear ratio

It has the 34 tooth speedo gear which is what it would have come with stock. So I’m pretty sure it’s been regeared. I am hoping to find someone who has a formula to calculate the axle gear ratio. I am looking to go up to 35” tires in future so I’m wondering if I may already have the correct gears.

Trying to figure out current gear ratio

I assume it came from the factory with 30" tires also, the factory gear ratio would be 3.73. So with 31" tires my speedo should be actually be running a bit slow if it still had the factory gears. Thanks for the feedback!

I am guessing the...

    U-Joint Strap Bolts Stripped

Any recommendations on how best to remove stripped bolts on the u-joint strap? It's too tight to fit a socket or drill out, I'm thinking I may need to weld something on, but these bolts are kind of small to do that. These are on my front driveshaft, I just pulled the t-case to install an SYE and...
