    TJ build discussion

A while back i was debating on doing a diesel swap. Well my 100k 4.0 threw a rod at the moon, so im cannibalizing all of my parts, and building my jeep from the ground up. The plan is cummins r2.8 diesel engine, tr4050 5 speed, atlas tcase, rebuilt front and rear axles from my 97' f350 parts...

    Rear steer

Has anyone here messed around with rear steer? Not when something is broken, like swapping a Quadrasteer gm rear or building your own. What would be the upside to doing so, how difficult would it be to create, and would it be worth the extra time and money? I'm not considering this idea...

    Rewire heater controls

So I have a project I need help with. Im rewiring my AC controls to two on/off/on switches. I only have 2 air strength settings that work, and I only use hot and cold, and im fine with that. I made a 6 gang toggle switch panel and im using the first two toggles as my ac/ heat controls. My...

Ford 8.8 vs JK Dana 44

Whichever axle I go with, im fully building it before I throw it in. I know there's c clip eliminators, I think im going to go with the super 35, or a tj 44. I found a tj 44 and an 8.8 both for 200 out of wrecked vehicles, or ill just build mine. When I started this jeep project I never would've...

Ford 8.8 vs JK Dana 44

Can I use a c clip eliminator with this? I'm just not a fan of c clips

Ford 8.8 vs JK Dana 44

Im going for a more utilitarian build, so as long as it can hold up I dont favor one choice over the other. Super 35 could also allow me to keep the ground clearance so it definitely sounds better than a 8.8 or a 60

Ford 8.8 vs JK Dana 44

I'll do that then, if I absolutely need to I can always get a different axle in the future. Really opening my mind to possibilities

Ford 8.8 vs JK Dana 44

Doesnt the JK Rubicon 44 come with air lockers?

Ford 8.8 vs JK Dana 44

I could stick to the dana 35, I just hear so much negative about it that I'd rather get a dana 44 at the very least. Im my experience the 35 is cheaply made, what's your view on the TJ 44? Any axle i put in will be trussed, and possibly sleeved if need be

Ford 8.8 vs JK Dana 44

I was dead set on dana 60s, but then I took axle clearance into effect. So now I'm debating between a built 8.8 or a built JK dana 44, or even a built TJ 44. Can someone with experience with these axles give input? I have a lot more experience with Toyota axles and dana 60s. Im locked in on an...

    TJ tub on LJ frame

I just did a second lookover, the frame rot is only just starting near the wheel wells, I could patch it but id rather just get another frame. Was thinking new, but now I'm on the west coast everything here has significantly less rust, so I could go with a used frame

    TJ tub on LJ frame

I was just under the jeep today, the body mounts are good, the frame rot is just the lower half

    TJ tub on LJ frame

I dont think I've seen those ones, I do know a lot of people try to skimp out on gears, or even forget about them completely. I knew it was a joke though, I was going along with it😂

    TJ tub on LJ frame

Either use it to weld up some external storage spots or just leave it. My main concern is I can find a used LJ frame for probably around same price of a used TJ frame, and both are cheaper than a new TJ frame. My current frame has a lot of rot, and its already been repaired by the previous owner

    TJ tub on LJ frame

I was probably gonna run 30s front and back with 3.51 gearing

    TJ tub on LJ frame

Most of you that read my posts know I want to stretch my frame, or get a new one and stretch that because my frame has some severe rot. But how hard would it be to swap my tub over to an LJ frame? If LJs weren't rare and expensive I'd buy that instead, but I plan on dropping a lot of money into...
