97 wrangler 2.5-- How do I know if my problem is the ignition switch, actuator pin or the lock cylinder? I am certain one of (or all three of these) are (is) my issue. My tj wont start unless I "jiggle" the key while starting. Any help would be appreciated. I'd rather not replace all three...

Hello to All. here we go again. So, my 97 tj 2.5 has issues starting. Wasn't showing any spark to coil. Sat in the sun for a few hours(New Orleans heat) and it started. Of course, when it wouldn't start the voltage and fuel gauge wouldn't work either. It's the craziest thing I've seen yet...

Thank you but knowing my luck, I would replace the pcm and it still wouldn't start. I guess its my kind of luck but I'd rather try the less expensive avenues first. (Not doubting you whatsoever) Thanks again, will keep you posted

yes, when I turn the key to the on position, the fuel pump comes on and stays on. It doesn't sound like it shuts off within a second or two. But, before this problem it did the same thing and yet it did start. now, no fuel gauge or voltage gauge working. Confused!!!

Yes, the fuel pump is coming on and working. It use to start eventually, but now, what ever was causing the original problem has totally shut down. will not start. Cranks but wont start.

my 97 tj 2.5 has the same exact issue. I am new to this forum (and new jeep owner). I have been told to check the cps (crankshaft sensor). I may just order one and replace it. I'm not sure this could prevent it from starting. I am waiting on other responses to my thread. (remember---I am new...

relay and fuse are both good. another thread had mentioned the cps. could a bad cps keep it from starting? seems unlikely. again, thank you in advance.

The battery seems fine and it cranks and cranks but just will not start.
