I continued on my slow march of taking care of maintenance items that are an unknown amount of time past due. Today was resealing and changing lube in both axles. Gotta love that awesome smell. Not a large item, but another minor box ticked.

No working on it today. Did a little beach driving to the end of the island. Too cloudy to really catch the sunset, but still an awesome time.

I finished cleaning various ground points, got rid of some wires to nowhere from a previous owner and put on a couple nice fat new battery cables (2 awg) and actually took it for a short drive for the first time in a couple weeks. Looks like maybe some beach wheeling in the next couple days.

I love the modified Pittsburgh aluminum jacks. When I took a break from Jeeps and owned a Raptor it seemed like everyone (but me) had one on an aluminum skid plate and in a quick disconnect cradle. My unmodified one is my go-to at home.

Thanks. It's not original, but I think your right. As I was looking at things I decided replacement was in order even after the points of contact were clean. This started out as figuring out why it wouldn't even crank.

I'm inclined to think you're correct and I appreciate hearing some reinforcement. Regardless, I just bought it this fall and some cleaning of connections was in order. I put on more beach miles than road miles this time of year.

Spent the afternoon chasing a bad ground that gives me a no start situation. With a jumper cable from the negative battery clamp to the starter body it will fire right off. Without it, I've got nothing. Not there yet, but tomorrow is another day.
