Don't be in a big hurry to lift, mod too much. Drive it for a while and see how you like it. If you go out by yourself be sure and get a good used Warn winch first thing. Although when through KS on the way to CO, I never saw much to winch to, other than windmills !! Good idea to change...

Only need to take the gear side of the winch off and if careful may not need new gaskets. They are not cheap. Clean gear sets well and then regrease, not too much. Can then see how the lever works the shift collar. (be sure and put it back in the right way)...

Hitch mounted winches on front or rear are generally not a good idea. Much better to mount on the front bumper. There is a reason most/all do that. Could be wrong. D

I have to cancel too, really sorry. Cannot leave the wife, she has hip problems and needs a replacement. Just cannot leave her for that long. Hoping for June, but probably 2025. @ 78 yesterday, can't wait too long !!
