The Quadratec website has a drop down under the Replace-a-top that gives a good representational pic. I'm not encouraging you to buy from them, just a better view than the Bestop website.
I have a shale green metallic 2002 and have the same dilemma. I was leaning toward the Bestop dark tan instead of the brighter spice. They might send samples if you call.
I like Plastidip but decided to buy inexpensive black steel wheels because I didn't like the look of Jeep Ravine wheels painted black. Just my preference.
I don't remember but probably 120. You just need a good scuff to remove the gloss. Start with a medium coarse sand and you will be able to tell the difference as you go.
Thanks,
I bought black boots from Rancho. A few experienced people on this site suggested not to use the boots as they would hold dirt and debris and cause more damage. I'm not an offroad driver and when removing my brick-stiff Bilstein shocks, I looked under that boot and the shock stems...
I bought some new Ranchos and didn't like the white either. I sanded and painted with a few coats with Krylon fusion and no clear coat. Rears have been installed for a while and still look good. Fronts go on soon.
Really liked the old green Land Rover Defenders, when I found this TJ it had that traditional look.(came new with dark tan top) Original Jeep was green, right? In all honesty, I would love any TJ that was mine.
Please let us know the result. I did the same thing and identified 5020 as the color i need. I did a retailer search on the SEM website and only 2 in the S. Louisiana area will mix and put in a can. One wanted $40 /can and the other $60. If you find someone that can mix and ship for half of...
I certainly appreciate and respect your experience on this. I have had the Bilsteins on for a year with boots...going to open up the boots after I remove the shocks and see how they look. Thanks
I dont go offroad much and really wanted to replace that hard red plastic boot on the rear shock with the soft black rubber boot. I cut the neck just to the first rib, oiled the shock, and slid the boot over the bar pin. Looks clean. I debated keeping them off but my only concern in the deep...
I took the advice as well and purchased the RS5000X to replace my Bilsteins. I oredered the Rancho black boots to replace the red and painted with satin Fusion. Planning to install this weekend.
Check out SEMproducts.com. I just ordered some paint and spoke with their customer service. Their resources page has videos and detailed info for painting or refinishing many different materials.
