    I Built a Portable Off-Grid Water System

Well, there's always boiling. Filter it down to 0.5 micron, and bring it up to 210F. We're still stuck with naturally occurring heavy metals and herbicides / pesticides that the Forest Service / BLM / State Dept. of whatever like to spray around to control bugs, disease, and invasive species...

    Bridge collapsed

It was reasonably common knowledge in the tin can community because we had to escort the civilian ro-ro ships into port, and escort the convoys to Europe for the support of NATO. Soviet Naval Air Assets and Submarine forces were / are non-trivial then as now. The tin can I was on was configured...

    Bridge collapsed

The US Army plans to move armor to Europe using ro-ro ships in case of a major war. It's the fastest and easiest way to move whole brigades at a time. Baltimore is one of the major ports that would be used because of it's proximity to Norfolk and ability stage and load that amount of wheeled and...

    Bridge collapsed

Update (1508ET): "Can we take the idea that this [Baltimore bridge collapse] was a terrorist attack off the table ... and absolutely we cannot do that," President Trump's former national security adviser (and retired lieutenant general) Michael Flynn told Alex Jones in an online interview...

What did you do to your other vehicle today?

I'm retired, and the wife is retiring soon. We sold most everything, and put the rest in storage. We've lived in Airstreams for the past four years. A 19' for two and now a 27' Globetrotter for two. We've got a lot of places to go, and a lot of people to see. The Globetrotter is set up for...

    Bridge collapsed

Stocks, bonds, and commodities are currently unaffected by the bridge collapse. Analysts for major financial institutions are downplaying any effect this may have on the economy. (???) I disagree, but who am I?

    Bridge collapsed

https://notthebee.com/article/the-collapse-of-the-baltimore-bridge-is-worse-than-you-think-let-me-break-it-down At least 40 ships trapped in Baltimore Harbor. 30 prevented from entering. 847,158 autos and light trucks a year imported into the port. Ranked first in the nation for: Autos, light...

    Bridge collapsed

This is non-trivial. I'll post up some statistics in a bit, once verified. The numbers are huge.

What did you do to your other vehicle today?

She would, but maybe not this one. It's got 198,000 miles on it. Had it since 50,000 miles. It's all there, it runs great, but it's a resto project.

What did you do to your other vehicle today?

This one rocks. 454, 4L80E, 14 bolt... The wife and I are going mobile and it's just a slight bit sketchy and under sized for what we have going on. The F-250 should work just fine. The painful choice was Keep the Bourbon and sell both Jeeps, or sell the Bourbon...I kept my TJ.

What did you do to your other vehicle today?

Replaced the JK and the Suburban with a 2017 Ford F-250 with the 6.2 gasser. First Ford I've ever owned. Hope I didn't just screw up. (if anyone wants to buy a JKU with half doors, or a 1999 Suburban with every heavy duty option known to man, let me know)

    Today's Rant

Yes, there are several service providers available that will do that. I was / am currently using a small, local provider who until recently provided excellent service. There was a management change in the office recently, and then these new USPS regs came along. A frank, face to face discussion...

    Today's Rant

There's enough blame to go around. Washington sent troops after whisky distillers. Jackson was an absolute jerk to first nation people. Lincoln invented trashing the Constitution through executive orders. Wilson started the process that ultimately killed the dollar and led to the UN. FDR...

    Today's Rant

"There are recurring cycles, ups and downs, but the course of events is essentially the same, with small variations. It has been said that history repeats itself. This is perhaps not quite correct; it merely rhymes." Quote from psychoanalyst Theodor Reik, 1965 essay. Right now it is rhyming...
