What's the condition of your paint?

My 2005 TJR is the same color (body and top) as yours. I have a "neat gene" when it comes to my vehicles but in all honesty, unless the paint on the TJR gets really bad, I tend to live with it simply because of how I use it. It is liberally decorated on both sides with what we refer to as...

There needs to be a safety recall

Rant or whatever, I appreciate you sharing your experience. My TJ is a 2005 like yours but I have not had such a problem. If I do start experiencing such issues, then your posts will give me a starting point as to the possible source. Also, those that have pointed to the need to stay on top of...

There needs to be a safety recall

Could you do the rest of us Jeep owners a favor and provide some documentation that supports the true cause of the issue you, and it seems some others, have had? I try not to prejudice my views without having some solid substantiation of what might truly warrant a recall, or even provide some...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Received the appropriate sockets today so I changed out my manual tranny fluid and put in the RedLine that was so highly recommended. Seems to have resolved that little problem I was having when shifting from 1st to 2nd. Smooth as a baby's butt now.

    What size Allen Wrenches?

Okay. A little more research indicates the drain plug is 17 mm hex and the fill plug is 14mm hex. Sound about right to those that have done this?

    What size Allen Wrenches?

Wanting to change the fluid in my NSG 370 6 speed 2005 TJR and I cannot find out what size wrench for the drain plug and the fill plug. Pretty obvious they are two different sizes and probably metric. Anyone know what I need to acquire to get this job done? Thanks.

How reliable (or unreliable) has your TJ been?

Been a very reliable vehicle. I will admit that there are times I am so far back in "the wilds" that if something DID go wrong, it would take a cargo helicopter to get me and my TJR out. It is times like that where I wonder whether or not I should trust my rig to that degree. I do make sure I...

How critical is a Steering Stabilizer?

I've had DW on my TJ. Fortunately I am still able to speak to it. I was able to have the issue corrected with an alignment and a REALLY GOOD tire balance. Because those were the sources of my problem, and the fix for it, I don't think my SS had any effect on the problem what so ever. May have...

    Parking Brake Shoes

If the shoes are missing or "gone", either way when you replace them, look at the rest of the securing hardware. If it is very rusted/corroded then to be on the safe side. I would recommend their replacement. I mean we are talking about your "emergency brake" here, and when that "emergency"...

    Parking Brake Shoes

I have a 2006 TJ Rubicon and it has the drum emergency brakes inside (they call it a hat drum) and they adjust the same way one does most all drum brakes. The factory manual says NOT to adjust the cable that connects the lever to the brakes as they are set at the factory. Just use the normal...

    Come on fellas!

I can identify. I have a ZO6 Corvette in my stable and it is unique to what is mostly out there. I view my vehicles as I would horses. My TJR is my "draft horse". It will provide true grunt when I need it and not even break a sweat. The 'vett I see as a "race horse" as it is meant to drive and...

    Come on fellas!

Good for you Lt. Some day that TJR is going to be as collectable as a DeLorean. If you have a place to store it, do it and simply watch it appreciate. Have you seen what they are passing off as Jeep's these days? Mercy, have they gone over the edge.

What did you do to your TJ today?

Nothing too big. I put new brake pads all the way around on the TJR. Took a couple of hours but went real well. Am going to have to go through the brake bleed procedure next.

    Should I do it??

Jeeps don't die, they just keep on Jeepin".:cunaooooo: The only ones I've seen that are not on the highways/roads are those that are no longer running but the owner keeps it as if they simply cannot let go of them. It's a Jeep thing.

    Warn rear bumper

Okay, the Warn bumper is on it's way to it's new owner in Texas. Thanks to all that showed an interest. Happy New Year!!

    Warn rear bumper

I assume it is the Rock Crawler PN 61857 that will not accept the tire carrier. Looking at the pictures on Warn's website, that appears to be the bumper.

    Warn rear bumper

It was on the Jeep when I bought it. I don't know what name Warn has for it, but it does have the two inch receiver. It doesn't have any tabs for shackles. If your friend wants to come to Rim Country he can pick it up.

    Warn rear bumper

And I can say right up front, that no one will want to pay shipping on that bumper. It is heavy for sure.

    Warn rear bumper

I installed a swing away rear bumper tire carrier and have the Warn rear bumper if anybody wants it. I'm in Central Arizona and if you give me a heads up on this site, you can come pick it up. Free. My ride is a 2006 Wrangler TJ Rubicon.
