Wrangler Forum Rubicon Trail Run in Sept 2024??

Hello all. To celebrate a major life / career milestone, I am wanting to do the Rubicon trail in late September 2024, and thought it would be neat to have some company. Now, this is still "in-planning" stage and is not guaranteed on my part, just putting this out there for feedback. Would...

I checked the trackbar; both ends were tight. Trackbar mount on axle and frame appear good and free of cracks. Aside from feel while driving / steering, what is a good protocol for checking steering box? Ball joints only have about 4,000 miles; they were new with the ProRock Dana 44.

4/25/20 UPDATE: Currie eventually did replace my Currie drag link; unfortunately, it was a couple of weeks after I had to purchase a new Currie drag link since the Jeep was apart at the shop and needed to get moved out. Within the second or third drive on the replacement (2nd) Currie drag...

Well, I had another local shop look at the Jeep. They said the drag link ends were a bit loose, so we replaced the Currie drag link with another Currie drag link as well as changed the caster from 2 degrees to 6 degrees. I've driven the Jeep on some of the same roads and speeds that would...

I'll look into this. The steering dampener is mounted to the drag link in part due to the mounting location on the Dynatrac ProRock 44. The steering dampener doesn't really line up with the drag link. I'll look at it again.

Weird indeed. LOTS of TJs / LJs out there with BFG mud-terrains and no issues.

Quick follow-up. I had my wheels & tires balanced for a 3rd time as well as triple checked my front end / steering components while someone was turning the steering. Tires all "balanced" and front end / steering all looked and checked out as tight and no slop. Unfortunately, this has not...

Thank you for the link. I have read that link info before; very informative. Unfortunately, what I am experiencing is definitely death wobble and not vibrations.

"Good" meaning the wheels and tires where balanced to "0" on their tire machine. The wheels and tires where purchased and balanced elsewhere, and verified as "good" or "balanced" according to the balance machine. Yes, the tires have been swapped front and rear with the same result. I've...

Thank you. I did have the shop check the wheels and tires for balance, and everything came back good. I'll get a pic of the front end in a bit.

Hello all. I'm having an issue with death wobble and would like some input. I have read the steering and death wobble FAQ, but I seem to have optimized everything and still have the death wobble. I do get a little feedback in the steering wheel when driving on rough secondary roads at slow...
