The front shocks are Rancho's. The rear shocks are Rough Country and look like the have not been replaced in years

I forgot to mention the rears are Rough Country shocks and appear to be older than the Rancho's

I removed one of the rear lower shock bolts and it takes a little force not much to move the shock in and out. It stays in whatever positon I put it at but not with very much force. Easily done with one hand

All the body mounts are in good shape and look like they've been replaced. I'll pull a couple shocks off and see what condition they are in

Should the Jeep be hard to push down on the bumpers?

What is a good shock to replace them with?. Locally I can get Rancho's, Pro-Comp, Skyjacker, and Tough Country. I'm not going to be doing any serious off-roading with it

The part number on the front shocks is RS5239

I think it may be the shocks. It has a 4" Rough Country lift but Rancho shocks....for a 2.5" lift

The tires are brand new

While I was underneath I noticed the transmission has some slight side to side movement from the mount. Would that cause the body sway issue?

Would a worn link cause the sway?

The rear lowers were the only ones I could see the bolt moving around inside the housing when my son pushed down on the bumper. The rest of them I didn't see any movement

I've been trying to figure out what is causing body sway on my 1999 TJ with a 4" suspension lift and 31" tires. I had a 2002 with a 4" suspension lift and 33" tires in the past and never had this problem. It doesn't matter what speed I'm driving or if the road is smooth or has potholes. The...

How difficult is it to replace them? Can it be done with the tires on the ground or does it need to be raised? Thanks

The Jeep has a 4" suspension lift so I don't believe the factory ones will work

I need to replace the lower rear control arms on my 1999 TJ and would like to find out if there's any difference between the Rough Country and Superlift fixed arms.

Lee Schwab had said the steering stabilizer was the problem. They were wrong and refunded some of the $80 parts and labor. Will the rear lower control arms cause sway?

I aired down the tires to 30psi and still no improvement. Still the only thing I can see wrong is the rear lower control arm bushings. Don't know if that would cause the body sway though

I just checked the tire pressure and it's 42psi
