    The good news thread

Sweet crib, that's about the size I'd like to get myself into one of these days. Everything go to plan on settlement day?

    EV thread

the whole market for EVs seems to be declining. Tesla dropped its prices again, their stock is falling, and all the Chinese makers are locked in a price war with them and selling largely at no profit in an attempt to secure market share. Add in the smaller EV players like Ford, GM, Hyundai...

    EV thread

seems consistent to me, if you're on the highway aren't you just driving on straight gas power like any other fully ICE car? As opposed to stop & go traffic where you're in a near constant state of charging the battery? I was always under the impression hybrids did better in non-highway...

Woman forced to sell her dream car after paying $40k in interest over 3 years

definitely one of the hazards of aging. My first apartment was $400/mo. After a while we upgraded to one twice the size & it was $600/mo 😮 After a few years of the apartment life we scraped together a 5% down payment & bought our first house (1994). In my mind rent prices froze at $600/mo...

    Best places to retire?

Are you sure about that? I have a good bit of confidence that the green religion scoundrels will get their way sooner rather than later & part of that will be restrictions on (& ultimately banning of) 'leisure' travel to save the planet, oh, & democracy :ROFLMAO:. I'm on the same general...

    Pennsylvania PA antique vehicle tags

What exactly are you trying to accomplish with antique plates on a vehicle that clearly does not meet the requirements? The law is pretty clear on what antique registration plates require which is basically stock, & if you look at the application for these plates it requires you to certify...

Anyone running a 2 1/2" lift with 33 in tires? Pics / Opinions wanted!

This is close to what you're asking about (3 inch front 2 inch rear spring only lift, average 2.5 inches 😁 ), no body lift, no spacers, no nuttin you're not gonna find many fans of that brand you're looking at in these parts. I went with Teraflex springs and Rancho shocks, drives like a dream.

of course, and in reality it is necessary that they shift the tax burden to other sources, they collect around 50 billion/yr in gas taxes, they can't just give that up as there are legitimate purposes those funds are used for, mixed in with a lot of economic chicanery & pork usages of course...

'EV Road Use Taxes' on their way. We knew it was only a matter of time, the 'I save so much money not buying gas crowd' will be punished for their audacity :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: But seriously, how could it be any other way. Did anyone actually believe that once we're all strong-armed...

How many of you outdoor cook with a Traeger? If not what is your BBQ rig of choice?

I never tried it with a brisket but it works like a charm for ribs; a/k/a 'turbo ribs', let it rip at 350 indirect for about 90 minutes, you can do a straight 90 or 60 then foil for 30 minutes which is what I do. I can't tell the difference between them and 5 hour low & slow ribs. Briskets &...

    What are you cooking today?

it's rough sleddin this time of year for tomatoes, pretty much all that's available are tomato looking blobs, soon the good ones'll be out. The plan for this part was to pack it up & head to one of our favorite wineries to spend the afternoon sipping some wine & perhaps a slushy on a nice sunny...

    What are you cooking today?

haven't made a boule in a couple years so I pulled out the banneton & cranked one out, 70/30 bread flour/whole wheat. Thursday night overnight bulk ferment, shaped it Friday morning & into the banneton for a final proofing until about noon, covered & into the fridge for a few more hours to...

Seeking nuclear options for woodchuck termination

the bee situation depends on the season, right now the carpenter bees are in full swing and I have a two-pronged approach. The traps hang year round and they deal a massive blow to the population as they're on duty 24/7. To supplement that (and for pure entertainment) I use a butterfly net to...

Seeking nuclear options for woodchuck termination

Years ago I went to war with generational groundhog infestation & their network of condominiums under my shed and deck at two opposite ends of my property. Ultimately, gas bombs with a 45 pound weight disk & blanket to trap in the goodness with a plugged up escape route on the other end worked...

    Bulb grease?

I claim no expertise in this area, rather, in the few days since learning there was such as thing as bulb grease I've read and watched a bunch about it & I don't think I've come across anyone claiming it improves electrical connections, rather the claim is that it prevents corrosion which...

How many of you outdoor cook with a Traeger? If not what is your BBQ rig of choice?

you're welcome, post up some photos when you're done. My kids (pushing 30) probably ate 1000 of these growing up, they are an absolute smashing success every time I make them & they're so easy. Just remember, don't be shy with the olive oil, you literally want to coat the bottom well & roll...

    Bulb grease?

odd, that's precisely the opposite of what half the internet says , but perhaps more importantly, the instructions that are printed on at least the Permatex brand dielectric grease package which says "coat both parts of the terminal contact with Bulb Grease", which I saw after posting...
