Well great new! Pulled the motor out and found that one of the magnets on the motor broke lose. Cleaned everything up and remounted the magnet with JBweld. Put everything back together and it works perfect now.

about a month ago an engine/ belt squeal arose at first starts in the morning then would go away after the motor warmed up and not come back. Then over the last 2 weeks the squeal would happen more often like any time the motor had time to cool off. Checked the belt and it looked good no cracks...

So my frame is not rusted out. Some surface here and there that I can wire wheel down and prime. The question is what is the best paint for the frame. Should I go with the kinda expensive frame paint from Eastwood that is designed for automotive frames? Of is some satin black rustoleum good...

The biggest thing I don’t get about the midsized trucks are the full sized prices? I mean there within a few thousand of there full sized counterparts. And while the exterior is not that much smaller than a full size the inside is small almost car like.

First picture is with factory size flares second is with 6” flares. While the 6” does cover better and I don’t get as much stuff thrown up I prefer the look of the factory ones.

I did that same think my last oil change and have zero problems.

My plans are too repaint the frame and fix the few small rust spots, pick up an 8.8 and regear to 4.88 with lockers. And then maybe fix a few fade spots on the flame red from this Florida sun.

I’ve heard good things about them. I know they run a little on a narrower side so like a 12.50 actually runs like 11 which is not a bad thing for the Jeeps. Also don’t last as long as the Toyo MTs. I read something like where you may get 55-60k out of a set of toyos you may only get 45-50k out...

Well I’m glad to know I’m doing it the “normalish” way. How do y’all with the thimbles like them? How hard easy are they to use in a recovery? And has anyone ever used the factor55 type hooks?

I literally was just looking at mine thinking those look adjustable. I stared and played with them for a while never thought to just push in the adjust. I was looking for a button.

How do you keep your winches stored? Cable pulled all the way in? Cable hooked to a D ring? Pulled tight or lose? Covered uncovered? Do you always respool after a pull? Any tips? I keep mine covered and hooked to a D ring pulled tight.

I like at the end “it’s good to know a Jeep is still a Jeep” not so much can be said about the new jk jl.
