“Kicks” when pedal is depressed

I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler with a 4.0. So the best way I can describe it is that when you’re driving and let off the gas the Jeep will kind of kick sometimes it’s soft and sometimes it’s a really hard kick and sometimes it won’t do it all. Any ideas? I also am having a problem that when I turn or go over a bump slowly you can hear the front end pop and sometimes you can fill. Any ideas on what either problem would be would be greatly appreciated!

My 01 does the same :-/
I’ve never thought too much of it, I just assumed it was a manual transmission thing.

The front end pop MAYBE a control arm. you can snug them down to see if that makes a difference.

The kicking; My auto 04 kicks from first to second... sometimes.. when its cold? sometimes.
Check the fluid first, but I think its common to our 42RLE

I fixed the popping. But still no luck on the kick. Mine is a manual not an auto tho
