Picked up this 2000 TJ for my son and I to work on while we have all of the time at home... We’ve had it for a couple of months and have had a ton of fun bringing it back to life.
It has 200k miles, but it’s in surprisingly great shape! Body, frame, drivetrain don’t match the mileage- they’re completely solid. Paint could use some work, but I don’t mind some patina. Hasn’t needed anything major- redid brakes, fixed a leaking rear main seal, and I think the lift/wheels/33’s finish it off nice! Everything else was bolt on/screw in/snap into place from the parts catalogs.
I’m a long time Land Cruiser owner, but have been wanting a TJ for quite a while. It’s looking pretty good from where we started! Appreciate forums like this and all the user support. Look forward to learning from all of you. Chris
