Since I bought this 2000 TJ in early '19, it has had a strange issue. When i use the turn signal to change lanes (momentary use — not just flipping them on), then let go of the lever, you can still hear it "clicking" like they are on, yet no indicator on the dash (indicator works when changing lanes). I have to flip the level to the other side to get it to "stop". Turning a corner, when you push the level all the way and let it bounce back itself, does not always have the issue but sometimes.
The other day, wife was driving behind me as we were dropping off her car, and when I changed lanes, the signals did it again. She told me that the taillights were flashing (until I stopped it by fiddling with the lever).
Is this a sign of a bad clockspring or turn signal switch or ?
No cruise control, and the turn signal lever is just that....nothing else on the lever.
