2001 TJ hood prop bolt size

My hood prop rattled loose and I lost the original bolts. I’ve had a hard time finding what the actual bolt size is. I have tried M6x1.00 and I have tried 1/4-20 size bolts both seem to be too big or the wrong threads.

I really want to stay with the original hood prop rather than moving to a hydraulic setup if possible.
