2002 Jeep TJ fuel pump power issue

Hey guys wanna start a new thread cause
I’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of a small issue that’s not so easy to find to begin the story I was driving along the highway the jeep dies and I immediately run through my fuses and relays swapping them out but no luck my mind instantly jumps to fuel pump considering it had no pressure in the rail… I replace the fuel pump still no power to the pump when ignition is switched on thankfully for @macleanflood we have been slowly diagnosing the issue thankfully his expertise has came in very handy as I’m still a young grasshopper basically at this point we sent 12v into old pump only to find it still works immediately after that we sent 12v into the new pump for a few seconds finding out it works as well ! The jeep even started up for a second which is cool to see !
Now we are working on jumping the fuel pump from the relay another input would be great thanks !

Just wanted to update everyone after a small bit more of trouble shooting I think me and @macleanflood have discovered the issue it was nice having him on the phone guiding me through the maze haha but I thought I would list the things that helped me figure out the issue AGAIN 2002 WRANGLER YOUR YEAR MIGHT NOT APPLY
1. Test relays by swapping them out with less important ones move onto fuses !
2.Test the fuel pump … send 12v make sure it works (wish I had done this)
3. If all this fails jump the fuel pump using the relay pin 30 and pin 87 I’ll post a picture for anyone wondering
4. If the fuel pump kicks on you know your problem is upstream vice versa if it doesn’t you know it’s downstream now you have narrowed down your problem hopefully this helps !

After replacing my fuel pump assembly several years ago with a Delphi unit I had an occasional no start issue. I was getting voltage at the pump connector but had no fuel pressure.

I noticed that the connector pushed together pretty easily and wondered if the issue was something to do with the contacts in the connector. I hadn't scrapped the old pump assembly so measured the thickness of the pins on the pumps. I don't remember the actual measurements but the OEM pins were very slightly thicker than on the new pump.

I disassembled the loom side connector and on the terminals there is a little recess where you can push in to tighten up the contact. I did that to all of the terminals and reassembled the connector. The connector felt much firmer pushing it together. I haven't had an issue since. It's a bit of a pain disassembling the loom side connector whilst lying on your back but could be worth a try.

Pic below isn't the OEM terminals but they are similar and the arrow shows where I pushed in to tighten the contact up.

Just for your info I found a wire in my harness had separated it was the green/white which is the power to your fuel pump right by the driver rear tire in the loom

Just wanted to let everyone know spectra premium fuel pump SP7115M seems a little louder than the oem pump could just be mine but wanted to throw that out there
