Hi all. I have a 2003 wrangler SE with a 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine in it. It has been sitting for a while so I charged the battery overnight. When I went to start it the next day, it started right up idled for about half a second then died. A friend recommended cleaning the IAC which I did but still having the same problem. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue?

You started it after sitting a while, assuming months or more?
It started and ran for half a second idling and died. Did you give it gas? Let it warm up after sitting so long?
How did you clear your IAC? Did you have the Jeep running and idling and spray it I ? I would assume of course not, because you said it only ram for half a second.
Will it not stay running if you give it gas?

It sat for a little over a month. Tried to give it gas and it still died. Pulled the IAC with it off and used throttle body cleaner on it and scrubbed it off with a rag.
Have someone start it, and try and keep it running with throttle body cleaner or starting fluid. That will point to fuel vs ignition/timing. Did the IAC move by hand at all? I just cleaned mine yesterday on my 2.4, I pulled it out and made sure I got cleaner in the orifice at the bottom.
Also, cycle the keys 4-5 times and look for OBD trouble codes where the odometer is. Something like a crank sensor will do what you're having and trip the CEL.
