2004 Rubicon Tailpipe Replacement

I am replacing my muffler and tailpipe and have decided on the Walker quiet flow SS muffler part number 21456 but it seems that when I search for tailpipes, a lot of them say not compatible for the Rubicon. Does anyone know which tailpipe (preferably stainless without those crimped bends in the corners) would fit the 2004 Rubicon? I live in the rust belt so I think the stainless is the best choice. Any help will be appreciated.

Any TJ tailpipe will fit a TJ Rubicon.

I put that same muffler on my 2006 Rubicon. Replaced a banks monster that was just too loud for me and put it on my sons TJ. This is the tail pipe I used, its aluminized steel the is said to resist corrosion, but it does have the crimped bends. It was a great fit with no install issues. I‘m on the west coast and don’t daily drive TJ so the longevity and exposure for my exhaust is much different than yours will be. It’s been on for a year with no issues.

I don’t think the crimped bends will hurt anything as far as performance goes. Watched Engine masters testing mandrel bends against the regular bends and made no difference

I put that same muffler on my 2006 Rubicon.

I bought the Walker SoundFX (18978) for my WJ, and I thought it was too loud.
I wanted something close to stock.
What do you think of the Walker quiet flow SS (21456) on the Rubicon?

I like the 21456 and would buy it again. It has a slightly deeper tone over stock but not loud at all.

I haven't installed it yet as I am still working under the Jeep and have discovered that the area where the main skid plate mounts was actually rusted through the bottom of the frame rails. I have new rails with inserts already installed but I have to locate those, cut out the affected area, and then have my brother weld them in place. When that is done and I am finished with the rest of the surface rust treatment on the other parts of the frame and tub, I will install the new muffler and tailpipe. I may as well do everything while I am under there (U-joints, trans mount, transaxle fluid, etc.). I like what Matt131 said about the muffler though.
