2004 Jeep LJ – Immaculate, Dream Build, No Expense Spared

Mileage: ~109,xxx (still driving it here and there, not my daily though)
Condition: Great
Location: Salisbury, NC (45 mins north of Charlotte)
Price: ~$18K

Background: After moving out of NY about 4 yrs ago, my family now finds ourselves needing to go back. Opportunities have made it so we'll be relocating back to the city, and with that I don't want to store my LJ for an unknown period of time. I thought about it for a bit, but ultimately once we get settled and I have room for a jeep again, I'll be looking for a manual (not now though, not looking for trades). This LJ has been my dream build ever since I got it about 4 years ago. A rig that’s been meticulously cared for and upgraded without cutting corners. With just over 109K miles, this Jeep is in great shape inside and out, ready for a new home. Note: OEM hardtop is on now, will add more pics soon. Also have OEM back seat (not in photos).

A lot of what has been done is listed below:

Interior Upgrades:
  • Interior is absolutely perfect, clean, and well-maintained
  • Front seats are Corbeau — a general-purpose design (not Jeep-specific) with a clean OEM appearance and a great fit in the TJ space
  • BedRug carpets installed
  • Sony CarPlay head unit with backup camera
  • 67 Designs phone mount and fresh leather-wrapped steering wheel hoop
  • Center console sub-woofer replacement
  • Trailgater stainless/aluminum/bamboo tailgate table included
  • Ignition switch and actuator replaced
  • Interior/dash removed for deep cleaning and detailing during heater core replacement
Exterior Upgrades:
  • OEM hardtop (currently on the LJ)
  • OEM Mopar front bumper and ARB deluxe rear bumper with tire carrier
  • Warn M8000S synthetic winch with control box mounted under the hood using armored 1/0 welding cable
  • USA TruckLite LED heated headlights and Hella LED fogs with amber covers
  • OEM-style fender flares, front indicator lights, body armor rocker guards/steps
  • JKS front quick disconnects, new bump stops and 2” extensions
  • Bestop soft top assembly with bows (used for about 6 months then stored in garage, like new)
  • OEM-style rear and front accessories to maintain classic look
Tires & Wheels:
  • 5 33” 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeak MT tires
  • 5 custom Wheel Smith steel wheels (17”x8” 4.5” backspacing)
  • McGuard black lug nuts all around

Mechanical Overhauls:
  • Complete cooling system overhaul with all new OEM Mopar parts, Zerex coolant, heater core, blower motor, and more
  • Tune-up with new OEM coil, NGK spark plugs, valve cover service, fuel rail heat shield
  • Charging system overhaul including reman OEM alternator, heavy-duty AGM battery with military-grade wiring
  • Fuel system cleaned and overhauled with new OEM components, gas tank skid, and fuel filler trim
  • 5.13 gears
  • SYE (Slip Yoke Eliminator) installed
  • Rancho shocks
  • Core 4x4 control arms
  • New 02 sensors (all)
  • Not a speck of rust anywhere on the vehicle
  • IAC valve

Needed:
  • Probably time to put new brake pads on her
  • I always wanted to go back to stock air intake (currently K&N cold air). I bought an OEM setup from another forum member, just haven't installed yet. It'll come with the jeep.
  • Has had the usual RMS drip ever since I bought it. Same with my last 2 TJs. It's nothing crazy and doesn't even warrant topping it off, so I've never addressed. Feel like it's one of those normal TJ things

The LJ is currently in the garage, so once it clears up I'll post some more recent photos with the hardtop on it. Can't tell in the photos but since the paint is black is shows everything, and this is not a Barret Jackson show rig. She's 20 years old and has the little scratches to prove it. But overall she's in great shape for being over 20 years old, and not feeling great about letting her go but hey that's life.

Seeing what the interest is. If there isn't any and it's only low-balls, maybe that'll convince myself to throw it in a storage unit for a year :) . Just posting here and not on FB, because I'd like to avoid all the weirdos that brings out if possible!

Let me know if you have any questions - happy to answer what I can.
